In June, the board unanimously approved Dr. Taye Gonfa’s nomination for a three-year term on the Board of Directors to help carry out our mission by bringing added health and safety knowledge and resources. Also, the board welcomed Ms. Dena Hayes- Greene to the board as the BOE appointed liaison to CIS. Ms. Hayes also serves as the chairwoman of the BOE and will serve to make sure a healthy relationship continues between CIS and Guilford County School including matters related to participating school sites, projects, staff, etc.
In addition, the board welcomed the return of Meryl Mullane. Ms. Mullane, principal at Mullane Public Relations and Marketing, will continue to serve as the chief volunteer community affairs officer for the Agency. Also, the board offered new, three-year terms to Chauncey Greene, supervisor, Child and Family Services, DHHS; Rebecca Buffington, community volunteer and former member of the Board of Education; and Dr. Anthony Chow, associate professor, UNCG. Ms. Buffington will continue to serve as the Agency’s chief volunteer fundraising officer, Mr. Greene as the liaison to the Dept. of Health and Human Services and member of the Strategic Planning Committee, and Dr. Chow as the chief volunteer strategic planning officer.
