Hayes & Clem Clement
Communities In Schools of Greater Greensboro (CISGG) was founded on a simple but powerful belief: when students are surrounded by caring adults and essential resources, they can overcome barriers and succeed. At the heart of this belief are Hayes Clement and his wife, Clem Clement, whose vision, leadership, and generosity laid the foundation for CISGG’s lasting impact in Guilford County schools.
As the founder of CISGG, Hayes Clement recognized early on that academic challenges are often rooted in unmet social, emotional, and basic needs. His commitment to addressing these challenges through a coordinated, school-based support model helped establish CISGG as a trusted partner in education—one dedicated to meeting students where they are and ensuring no child falls through the cracks.
Together, Hayes and Clem Clement have remained steadfast champions of the organization’s mission. Their role as donors and advocates reflects a deep personal investment in student success, not only through leadership but through continued philanthropic support that strengthens programs, expands services, and sustains long-term impact. Their generosity has helped CISGG place caring Site Coordinators inside schools, connect families to critical resources, and provide mentoring, tutoring, and enrichment opportunities that change lives.

The Clement family’s legacy is evident in the thousands of students who have stayed in school, improved academically, and gained the confidence to pursue brighter futures because of CISGG’s support. Their leadership exemplifies how vision paired with giving can transform communities and create pathways to opportunity for generations of students.
Today, CISGG proudly honors Hayes and Clem Clement as founders, donors, and enduring partners whose dedication continues to shape the organization’s work and inspire others to invest in the success of Greater Greensboro’s youth.
