What gets you excited about working for Communities In Schools of Greater Greensboro®?

"Making sure our children have the resources that they need to succeed in life is what makes my soul happy. My passion is working with our youth and mentoring them.

During this time it is really tough for our students. Just being able to call them or stop by to give an encouraging word and letting them know I’m here for them means everything to me. I love being that helping hand that our youth can come to and know that I truly care and they know they have someone in their corner."

Can you tell us a little about your background?

"I’m a native of Whiteville NC and moved to Greensboro NC to attend college at the best University. I’m a graduate of NCA&TSU with a BSW, I’m currently in grad school obtaining my MSW in children and families (Aug. 2021). I have been working in the mental health field for over 10 years with adolescents and their families. In my free time I love to spend time with my family and friends and take vacations."

What do you do in order to keep learning and keep growing?

"I love to research training that revolves around our youth and also I do a lot of volunteer work in my community with our youth."

“We cannot always build the future for our youth but we can build our youth for the future.” -Franklin D. Roosevelt
